Hunting
From our base in the Upper Rakaia we can drop you into remote deer hunting, tahr/chamois hunting, pig hunting and fantastic trout fishing!
We have access to both public and private blocks.
Hunter Information
1.
Meet at Rakaia Helicopters hanger, 2859 Double Hill Run Road, Methven.
Our driveway is 2.3km past the Upper Rakaia fire station on the left. On the mail box you will see Glenariff 2859. We are 1 hour from Methven.
3.
Maximum working load for your trip is 400 kg, this includes yourselves and gear. This suits a party of three and less. Please ensure you use soft bags and packs.

Please respect this special area. Leave huts and campsites clean/tidy and take out all of your rubbish.

The Rakaia deer herd are unique and need to be managed and respected.
Where possible, please do not shoot spikers they're our future trophies.
Again, please do not shoot young stags with potential, allow them to breed and develop their heads fully.
There are plenty of scrubber stags and hines that need shooting, and with luck and good management - there's potential for a trophy stag.

Hunting and fishing licenses/permits and hut fees are your responsibility.

Accommodation
There are several options within 10 minutes drive of our base. From shearers quarters to top end accomodation.
